What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a gentle, wonderfully relaxing, non-invasive holistic treatment that focuses on the whole body and person.

A light pressure is used on specific parts (or reflexes) of the feet, hands or face which are believed to mirror the anatomy of the body. This helps to naturally restore balance in the body and mind to support good health and wellbeing.

It is important to note that reflexology does not diagnose, prescribe or cure. However it is an incredibly intuitive therapy which seeks to treat the person holistically giving you the nurture and support that you and your body need at the time.

"I had a course of treatments with Michelle and loved every one. Michelle is easy to talk to and adapts the treatments to my needs. I leave her feeling very relaxed and I always get my best night's sleep on the day I see her." - Jane

    The Treatment

Michelle offers a down-to-earth, dedicated and professional approach to her treatments optimising the support that reflexology can give her clients and their health and wellbeing.

During your first treatment, extra time will be spent understanding your health, lifestyle and current state of wellbeing which will help to inform the treatment and make the most of what you want to get out of reflexology.

    About Reflexology. Beanbag Room Landscape

For foot reflexology you will be asked to remove your shoes and socks. For facial reflexology it would be preferable (although not a must) to arrive with no or minimal make-up (mascara and eyeliner is fine as this area is not touched). You will be asked to remove any earrings and necklaces.

Before each session the relevant area is cleansed and gently massaged. Using finger pressure, the reflexes are massaged paying particular attention to those areas that may help support your health and wellbeing according to your needs.

Only ecological, natural and organic products are used, respecting you and nature.

At the end of the session, Michelle will give you feedback and some practical and personalised aftercare suggestions to take home with you to complement your reflexology treatment.

The effects of reflexology can usually be felt immediately such as calm, deep relaxation and a better night's sleep following your appointment. However, depending on the individual and the treatment focus, having six to eight sessions may be more beneficial to experience some of the more deeper, longer-lasting results of the therapy. Michelle is always happy to discuss and suggest a treatment plan and offers a discount on treatment packages (5x60min sessions).
